Piotr Rasputin first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975), created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum. A Russian mutant from a Siberian farming collective, Peter can transform his body into organic steel, granting enormous strength and near-invulnerability. One of the gentlest and most morally clear X-Men beneath his armored exterior, he is the devoted older brother of Illyana (Magik). He famously sacrificed himself to release the cure for the Legacy Virus in Uncanny X-Men #390 (2001), later resurrected. His fastball special with Wolverine is one of the most iconic team maneuvers in comics. Toy Biz produced multiple Colossus figures; Hasbro Marvel Legends continued the line.
