Kurt Wagner first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975), created by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum. A German mutant who can teleport in a burst of brimstone smoke and a distinctive "bamf" sound, Nightcrawler has blue fur, yellow eyes, a pointed tail, and three-fingered hands — a demonic appearance that belies a deeply devout Catholic faith and swashbuckling personality. Son of Mystique and the demon Azazel. His agility and teleportation made him an invaluable X-Man. Toy Biz produced multiple Nightcrawler figures; Hasbro Marvel Legends continued the line with multiple versions.
