Arkady Rossovich first appeared in X-Men vol.2 #4 (1992), created by Jim Lee and John Byrne. A Soviet serial killer who was transformed into a super-soldier with carbonadium tentacles coiled inside his forearms and a lethal death spore pheromone. Like Wolverine, he requires an external substance — carbonadium — to regulate his healing factor; unlike Wolverine, his healing is insufficient on its own, forcing him to drain the life force from others to survive.
