Dwayne Taylor first appeared in Thor #411 (1989), created by Tom DeFalco and Ron Frenz. A wealthy orphan who trained himself to the peak of human conditioning and founded the New Warriors as a social experiment — testing whether untrained but motivated young heroes could become effective. Night Thrasher had no superpowers, fighting with martial arts and a weaponized skateboard. His cynical, Batman-adjacent motivation and willingness to push his teammates into dangerous situations made him one of the more complex young heroes of the era. He died in the Stamford explosion that triggered Civil War. Toy Biz produced a Night Thrasher figure.
