Shatterstar first appeared in New Mutants #99 (1991), created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld. A warrior from the Mojoworld gladiatorial dimension who arrived on Earth seeking help against Mojo's television empire. He wields twin swords and has superhuman agility. A founding member of X-Force, Shatterstar was a quintessential early-1990s character — defined by pouches, swords, and a complicated backstory involving time travel and genetic engineering that tied him to Longshot. Toy Biz produced Shatterstar in their X-Force line; Hasbro Marvel Legends issued a figure.
