Taskmaster first appeared in Avengers #195 (1980), created by David Michelinie and George Perez. Tony Masters has the photographic reflexes ability — he can perfectly duplicate any physical action he observes. He has copied the combat styles of Captain America, Spider-Man, Hawkeye, Daredevil, and dozens of others, making him one of Marvel's most tactically versatile fighters. He primarily works as a mercenary and trainer for criminal organizations rather than a traditional villain. Olga Kurylenko portrayed a gender-swapped Taskmaster in Black Widow (2021). Hasbro Marvel Legends produced multiple Taskmaster figures.
