Sean Cassidy first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #28 (1966), created by Roy Thomas and Werner Roth. An Irish mutant who can generate sonic screams powerful enough to destroy matter or allow him to fly, Banshee was briefly an Interpol agent before joining Xavier's new X-Men in Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975). Father of the hero Siryn. He co-founded the Generation X academy with Emma Frost at the Massachusetts Academy. Banshee was killed by the villain Vulcan in X-Men: Deadly Genesis #2 (2006), then resurrected as a Horseman of Death. Toy Biz and Hasbro Marvel Legends produced Banshee figures.
