Felicia Hardy first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #194 (1979), created by Marv Wolfman and Dave Cockrum. A skilled cat burglar who gained the ability to manipulate probability — creating bad luck for others in her vicinity — through a scientific process funded by the Kingpin. Her complicated romantic relationship with Peter Parker blurred the line between ally and adversary. She has worked as both a villain and hero depending on the story era, and in recent comics built her own criminal organization.
