After more than a year lurking in the rafters, he finally challenged 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade on December 28, 1997, in Washington, D.C., locking in the Scorpion Deathlock for the win after Bret Hart restarted a fast-counted finish as special enforcer.
