At Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Balor challenged reigning NXT Champion Kevin Owens, who kicked out of one Coup de Grace before a second put him away for the title -- Balor's first world or brand championship in WWE/NXT. The match is still cited among NXT's best, a blend of WWE main-event pacing and Japanese wrestling tradition staged inside Sumo Hall.
