Triple H marks his return to Raw on January 7, 2002, at Madison Square Garden, roughly eight months after tearing his quadriceps off the bone during a tag title defense with Steve Austin. To a major crowd reaction, he announces he'll enter the upcoming Royal Rumble, only for Kurt Angle to interrupt with the same announcement and needle him about the 2001 Rumble -- Triple H answers by dropping Angle with a Pedigree. He'd go on to win that year's Royal Rumble roughly two weeks later.
