One of Marvel's oldest characters and its first true anti-hero. The son of a human sea captain and an Atlantean princess, Namor is the Prince of Atlantis and one of the most powerful beings on Earth. Despite his immense strength, speed, and underwater dominance, he has famously small wings on his ankles that allow him to fly — a detail played for irony for decades. A founding member of the WWII-era Invaders alongside Captain America and the original Human Torch, Namor has oscillated between hero and villain throughout his existence, allying with whoever suits his agenda of protecting Atlantis.
