The Scarlet Spider identity was first used by Ben Reilly, a clone of Peter Parker who donned a red hoodie over a blue costume. Ben Reilly's Scarlet Spider debuted in the 1994–1996 Clone Saga, one of Marvel's most controversial storylines. The identity was later used by Kaine Parker in an ongoing solo series from 2012.
