Hasbro revived the vintage Kenner-era name for this Imperial officer when the Black Series 40th Anniversary line completed its dozen classic 1978 figures, unveiling him at 2017 Toy Fair before a June 2017 release on blue-box Kenner-homage packaging. The character predates the more familiar modern branding as an Imperial officer, and this figure was the sculpt's first-ever Black Series appearance.
