Cheetor first appeared in Beast Wars: Transformers episode 1 (1996). The youngest Maximal, he transforms into a cheetah and is characterized by impulsive speed and eagerness. Voiced by Ian James Corlett. Cheetor grows significantly across the series, gaining confidence and tactical thinking as Beast Wars progresses. He received multiple toy upgrades — basic Cheetor, Transmetal Cheetor after the quantum surge, and Transmetal 2 Cheetor in the third season. The character continued into the sequel series Beast Machines. Kenner's Beast Wars toy line covered multiple Cheetor variants at different price points.
