Qui-Gon Jinn is Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Master in The Phantom Menace (1999), played by Liam Neeson — a maverick Jedi who follows the Living Force and discovers Anakin Skywalker. His death at Darth Maul's hands is the emotional climax of The Phantom Menace. Despite appearing in only one film, Qui-Gon has substantial presence in the expanded Clone Wars and Obi-Wan Kenobi series. The 1999 Episode I Hasbro Qui-Gon figure was part of the massive product launch accompanying the film.
